The organisation is a charitable company limited by guarantee.
We enjoy a close working relationship with the London Borough of Southwark. We engage in partneships/joint ventures with groups such as SAVO, Guy Fox History Project, Bermondsey Action Group, SureStart, local tenants and residents associations. We also have close contact with advisory bodies such as Drug Addiction, Police Advisory Panels, Moore of London Advisory Board and Neighbourhood Renewal.
Our main objectives is to manage, maintain and operate community facilities through a programme of educational, cultural, social and recreational activities in order to improve the quality of life of residents in the area of benefit. A strong emphasis is placed on individuals and groups who have least access to resources.
To achieve these objectives we run a multi-cultural community centre, which incorporates a gymnasium and an OFSTED registered nursery for children of ages up to five years old. We also manage training programmes aimed at getting local people from socially and economically disadvantaged groups ready for, and better prepared to enter, the labour market or simply to allow individuals to build self confidence and self esteem, opening the door to meaningfull employement or further and higher education. |
